Hill House Home turns two this week, and our newest Dream Team member is answering the #HILLHOUSERESIDENTS questionnaire. Meet Conor Cook, who recently joined us to help build out our marketing efforts, content strategy, and retail experience. Read more about his tips for an incredibly deep slumber and riveting semantic inquiries below.

WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
Prospect Park South in Brooklyn.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN YOUR CURRENT PLACE?
Seven months.

WHAT’S ONE THING EVERY BEDROOM SHOULD HAVE?
Hill House Home bedding!

WHAT’S YOUR BEDTIME ROUTINE?
I take my bedtime preparations seriously, which starts with an evening shower. I then indulge in a lengthy, boring skincare routine and brush my teeth. Before lights out, I always grab my retainer, earplugs, and eye mask—charming, no?

WHAT PUTS YOU TO SLEEP RIGHT AWAY?
NyQuil.

WHAT KEEPS YOU AWAKE?
Questions like: why do “regardless” and “irregardless” mean the same thing?

WHAT’S ON YOUR BEDSIDE TABLE?
An auction catalogue from the Polaroid Corporate Collection’s 2010 sale—I wrote my senior thesis about Polaroid, and during my research, a photography specialist at Sotheby’s sent me a copy. On top of the auction catalogue, I place my current bedtime read. I also have a reading lamp and candle (which tends to be my favorite, Baies by Diptyque).

WHAT’S THE FIRST THING YOU DO IN THE MORNING?
I greet my 15-year-old dog!

CURRENT BEDTIME READING?
“On Trails: An Exploration” by Robert Moor.

WORKING WITH THE DREAM TEAM

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE HILL HOUSE HOME PRODUCT?
Our inserts deserve a shout-out. We spent a long time researching pillows, from how they feel to how they look and everything in between. Our final product is incredible. First and foremost they’re functional, but our inserts also fill out pillowcases exceptionally well. They make your everyday bed feel and look like your dream vacation bed.

WHEN DID YOU JOIN THE DREAM TEAM?

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON LATELY?
I’m building out our social media and content strategies. We have such a loyal and interested community who love our brand and products. As Hill House Home grows, we want to continue to engage with our customers.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE OFFICE SNACK?
Diet Coke and pita chips. Diet Coke is a staple at Hill House Home!

WHAT’S YOUR GO-TO LUNCH ORDER?
“The Alfalfa” from Ready-to-Eat on Hudson.

TELL US ABOUT A NOTEWORTHY HILL HOUSE HOME MOMENT
We love hearing how our products impact our customers—how a thoughtful, customized message can be so meaningful to someone. I recently found myself in a similar position, and it made me appreciate Hill House Home even more. I gave one of my closest friends a customized Sure Thing Pillowcase Set as a birthday present. After opening her gift, she texted me: “What I thought was literally a gift from God turned out to be gift from you—and it’s one of the best I’ve ever received. Thank you.”

WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE LOOKING FOR A JOB IN YOUR FIELD?
Explore many opportunities and go with your gut—don’t focus on one particular job or role.

WHAT DID YOU LEAST EXPECT WHEN YOU STARTED?
Who knew I’d become so good at ironing?

RAPID FIRE FAVORITES

Hotel? Four Seasons Hong Kong.

Midnight Snack? Sober? Nothing. Inebriated? Pasta.

Breakfast? Lyn’s breakfast wraps—she’s an icon on Penn’s campus.

Sound to fall asleep to? White noise.

Best night’s sleep? During a 14-hour flight from Los Angeles to Fiji, my family and I took “Vitamin H” (a prescription sleeping pill and muscle relaxant called Halcion). I fell asleep before takeoff, and a flight attendant woke me up in Savusavu.

Worst night's sleep? I got food poisoning during my first sleepover when I was eight years old. I went home very late that evening and slept on my parents’ bathroom floor.
