Interview by Nell Diamond | Photos Courtesy of Tanya Taylor
WHAT'S YOUR BEDTIME ROUTINE?
I sleep best when I spend some time getting ready for bed. I wash my face, brush my teeth, light a candle, moisturize and listen to Monocle radio podcasts.
WHAT'S THE BEST NIGHT OF SLEEP YOU'VE EVER GOTTEN?
I slept really well on my honeymoon in the Maldives.
AND YOUR WORST NIGHT?
Summer camp as a kid when a racoon tried to make me his bed mate.
WHAT TIME DO YOU GO TO SLEEP?
11:30pm is the goal! When I am home alone, it's much later - I get caught up reading and end up in a Pinterest rabbit hole of research.
WHAT'S ON YOUR BEDSIDE TABLE?
WHAT PUTS YOU TO SLEEP?
Wearing nice PJs and drinking hot tea.
WHAT KEEPS YOU AWAKE AT NIGHT?
Emails I did not answer or my schedule for the next day .
WHAT'S THE FIRST THING YOU DO IN THE MORNING?
Open the curtains - I love sunlight and my husband likes to sleep in a cave so I get my way in the morning.
WHAT'S THE CRAZIEST OUTFIT YOU'VE EVERY WORN TO BED (OR NAPPED IN)?
On a recent bachelorette party in Vegas there is photographic evidence of me napping in a 1970's sequin Abba onesie with platform boots included.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE HOTEL BED EVER (AND WHY)?
Sandy Lane hotel in Barbados, soft soft sheets, fluffy pillows and they lightly spritz the bed with "sleeping mist" which psychologically means a lot to me.
CAN YOU FALL ASLEEP ON PLANES?
I fall asleep before takeoff.
DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS TO BEAT JET LAG?
A lot of coffee and fresh air.
Midnight Snack: Popcorn
Sound to fall asleep to: Monocle Radio Podcast
