Meet Juliana, the sister style to our Ophelia dress, without the puff sleeves. With elastic straps for comfort, Juliana also has an adjustable tie neckline and corset-inspired midriff for an extra polished look, plus elasticated smocking in the back, pockets, and a statement-making gold zipper.
About the Print
We worked with artist Leïla Dubus to create this watercolor cannage print, inspired by Nantucket Lightship Baskets. These handwoven baskets were originally made by sailors aboard lightships off the coast of Nantucket in the 19th Century, and are characterized by their intricate weaving techniques and expert craftsmanship.
Today, Nantucket Lightship Baskets make valuable collector’s items – a unique combination of maritime tradition and expert craftsmanship.

SHOE RETURNS
-Shoes that show any visible signs of wear will not be accepted for return (ex. dirt, stains, scuffs, fabric frays, and indentation on the leather).
-We ask that you take extra care when trying on our shoes for the first time. Please wear them on a soft, clean surface (a carpet or rug, etc.), and do not wear them outdoors until you know you love them.
-To qualify for a return, shoes must also include the original shoebox in like-new condition. Any shoes returned without the box or in a damaged shoe box will be rejected for return. More info.

The cut and fabric are awesome. If you like the Ophelia but don't do twee puffy sleeves, this is for you. I got my street size M and it works but is a true corset, but could have comfortably sized up to the L.

While I love the print of this dress, I do feel the design needs a bit of tweaking. I appreciate the smocked back and zipper, I find the zipper is too long and makes the dress bunch in the back. I have a long torso and find the zipper too long. My other recommendation would be to make the straps just a bit wider so the elastic doesn't want to twist. My straps just don't want to lay flat. I love that they are elasticized, I just think a wider elastic would work better. I love that it is lined and appreciate the adjustable neckline. It's a great dress that could be perfect with a few tiny adjustments. I got a L, which is two sizes up from my usual Ellie size of S.

I tried this dress on and was pretty much ready to rip the tags off within minutes, it's that pretty. I've only ever bought size small from Hill House (but notably, don't own any Ellie dresses) and I'm a small pretty consistently elsewhere, and a size small fit me fine - there was enough give with the smocking in the back that it hugged me really nicely but I could breathe. I will agree with other reviewers that the zipper, while sturdy, does seem to catch on one part as you try to zip it up. Love the pockets, the fabric, the print, everything else - the neckline is to die for. This is the sexy summer 1950s housewife dress you need!
