Next To My Bed: Jenny Walton

Welcome to our latest installment of Next to My Bedfeature on Hill House Home's 40 Winks Blog that takes an up close and personal look at what some of our friends keep next to their bed.

Has anyone ever seen Jenny Walton and the ghost of Audrey Hepburn in the same room at the same time? The New York City-based designer and illustrator has an uncanny resemblance in both appearance, aesthetic, and whimsy to the late style icon, which has made her a street style staple for years. Well, that and her unmatched artistic talent. In celebration of the launch of her newest launch (drool-worthy daisy accessories) she joins us for Next To My Bed.

What side of the bed do you sleep on?

Left if you’re looking at me sleep (hopefully you are not). Right if you’re me!

What can you not sleep without?

AirPods! I have to listen to something to fall asleep.

What is currently next to your bed?

A deep green Kartell stand and a vintage dove lamp by Barbaglia and Colombo that I bought on 1stDibs.com as a set and I’m in love with.

What do you keep on said Kartell stand?

On the floor, I put whatever book I’m reading. On the table, I put my AirPods and whatever daisy jewelry and hairpin of mine that I’m wearing that day.

What is the strangest thing that's next to your bed?

Definitely the chocolate because I have to keep it very secret or else Scott [Jenny's fiancé] will eat it.

What would you not be able to sleep without being next to your bed?

AirPods or my very Breakfast at Tiffany’s fringed earplugs!

What is your nighttime routine in 5 steps or less?

I try to remember to take off my makeup (I use a facehalo reusable makeup remover) and cleanse my face, put on some moisturizer or my Lesse serum, put on my favorite satin mint pj’s, eat some chocolate, put in my AirPods and listen to something funny like old episodes of The Ricky Gervais show. Lately been listening to Las Culturistas podcast and loving that. I basically have to fall asleep laughing to something.
