I have previously bought and worn a midi-length Ellie Nap Dress, and while it was cute, I bought my regular size, and the smocked top just would not stop creeping up my bustline, allowing the shoulder straps to fall off my shoulders. I got tired of using fashion tape to stick the shoulder straps to my bra straps, and eventually sent the dress to a re-sale shop. This time, I ordered up a size, hoping that would reduce the "creep". Plus, I intend to primarily wear this maxi as a jumper over t-shirts, so even if the straps fall, that won't expose my bra straps all the time. Thankfully, even though I'm only 5'6", the maxi length is not too long, it skims my ankles, and will work with low heels as well as higher wedges. I also love that the dress is lined, so I won't need to wear a separate slip or half-slip, just slip-shorts should do.
