The Milani Dress

I could not disagree with the reviews more. If you size up, this dress feels and looks like an ethereal, gauzy dream. The fabric is like a butterfly wing, which makes the summer heat bearable. The sleeve is theatrical and fun, and the silhouette incredibly flattering. I rented it and then came here to buy (at a better price point than the used rental). Print is artful and gorgeous. New favorite dress! I adore it completely.

The fabric of this dress is PAPER THIN. It honestly reminds me of a Halloween costume. The pattern isn’t matched up along the seams which I also think makes it look really cheap. I feel like that’s something my older HH pieces have that really make them feel elevated and worth the price tag. I bought this on sale for $90 but even that is highway robbery for the quality of this garment.

In short, as referenced in other reviews, the material is incredibly cheap and thin. The dress is not worth the nearly $300 price I paid for it. The slip (which cannot be seen in the images provided) is ill-fitted and takes away from the style of the dress. The style and pattern is beautiful but the execution of the dress is obviously cheap and without concern for customer experience.

I have been a longtime fan and customer of Hill House. I go to Hill House first when I am looking for something new to add to my wardrobe. This piece has affected my view of the brand and has made me question purchasing from them in the future.

I am incredibly disappointed.

I had high expectations for this dress. I was expected it to be a nice thick material that would be textured based on the pattern. It arrived and is extremely thin and I’ll fitting and the pattern is printed on. There’s a short slip underneath that is so short and wrinkly. I normally love most of my HH dresses but this was the worst one. For $300 I expected much better, back she goes!
